A DISCOVERY-DRIVEN COMPANY

Aurora Geosciences was founded in 1981 with deep roots in Northern Canada. Lou Covello, a well known Yellowknife prospecting geologist, aspired to build a company focused on delivering excellence in northern exploration with the goal of providing mineral discovery. His approach included conceiving and applying new exploration models and techniques and then adapting geophysical technology to withstand the elements of the North. It was this approach that played a key role in several significant base and precious metal discoveries in the Northwest Territories and Nunavut. In 1988, the company's Yukon base of operations was founded by Mike Power, a Whitehorse geologist and geophysicist. Like Lou, Mike built a team focused primarily on applying geophysical techniques to mineral deposits in the Yukon, Alaska, and northern BC and aspired to deliver excellence in exploration and discovery.

In November 2000, both operations merged to form Aurora Geosciences keeping both offices in Whitehorse and Yellowknife. The company's base of operations remained that way until 2008, when the Alaska office was established, and then in 2018 when the Nevada office was formed to meet the increased demand south of our border.

Fired by the same drive that has fueled the company for over 40 years, Aurora Geosciences' staff preserve the long standing tradition of mineral exploration and discovery. Our operations have reached beyond the jurisdictions of Northwest Territories, Yukon and Alaska and have expanded to include many areas and projects in North America. We continue to carve a niche with our team's "can do" attitude in providing integrated geoscience solutions, products, and overall exploration support for our clients.
