Operational Trust in the Field

A Case Study at White Cliff Minerals’ Rae Copper Project

In northern exploration, the difference between a strong geological model and a successful drill campaign often comes down to execution. For VPs of Exploration, managing remote logistics, camp operations, and data integrity can quickly pull focus away from the geology itself.

Our ongoing partnership with White Cliff Minerals (WCN) at the Rae Copper Project in Nunavut shows how operational trust changes that balance. For WCN, we handle the heavy lifting: Arctic mobilization, camp operations, and technical management of the RC and diamond drilling programs. Our geologists oversee core and chip logging, RQD, and maintain a rigorous chain of custody from the rig through to the lab in Yellowknife. The result is a consistent, QA/QC-backed dataset that allows WCN’s team to stay focused on interpretation and strategy.

“Aurora Geosciences, our local partner, have mobilised to site delivering drilling consumables and camp supplies, with drilling and logging activities set to commence.”

- Troy Whittaker, Managing Director, White Cliff Minerals

This kind of reliable execution is the foundation of our Turnkey Project Management service. Every program is different, some partners rely on us to drive field execution and data delivery, while others look for a fully integrated approach.

Scaling to Full Turnkey Delivery

This level of reliable, field-proven execution is the foundation of Aurora’s Turnkey Project Management service. It’s built on the same operational discipline applied at Rae, then expanded to support the full scope of an exploration program.

In practice, this means taking on not just field activities, but how the entire program is planned, coordinated, and delivered in the North. From early-stage planning through to active drilling and data delivery, each component is aligned to support efficient, defensible decision-making.

Our turnkey support typically includes:

  • Permitting and regulatory coordination across northern jurisdictions
  • Program design, budgeting, and scheduling, grounded in real field constraints
  • Mobilization and logistics, including freight, equipment, and camp setup
  • Camp management and field operations, with a focus on safety, efficiency, and adaptability
  • Drilling oversight and technical execution, including real-time adjustments as conditions evolve
  • Data acquisition, QA/QC protocols, and secure chain of custody from field to lab
  • Integrated geoscience support, bringing together geology, geophysics, and GIS into a single working dataset

What distinguishes this approach is continuity. The same team that helps design the program is involved in executing it, and the same standards applied in the field carry through to the final dataset.

For some partners, that means relying on Aurora to deliver a well-executed field program that integrates cleanly into their internal workflows. For others, it means handing over full project delivery, from early planning and targeting through to execution and data delivery.

In both cases, the objective is the same: reduce operational friction, improve data reliability, and ensure that exploration decisions are based on work that holds up technically and operationally.
